I'm looking to scoot a device, be it a laptop or some specialized doohickey, around the apt. It has to be wireless, able to see my shared MP3s on the wireless LAN, and play those MP3s with some kind of minimal interface.
Anyone have ideas for this?

you playing them off an ipod or off your PC? There's lots of neat toys for doing that kind of stuff, but I would seriously suggest waiting till after CEDIA to get anything. All the new toys get released in 3 weeks
This is a very interesting little gadget:

here's the CEDIA site for ya too:

I use my modded Xbox in my living room hooked up to my stereo to play MP3's and just about any type of video I want on my TV.

No, but you can use any wireless ethernet adapter for it.

Neat! Uh... hm. Not sure I want to spend 9 days of my life studying Hong Kong Custom Import Mod Chip reviews and learning how to solder microscopic connector A to invisible endpoint B. But I'll definitely consider it! :O
