Well? I'd just like to hear different opinions, and preferably with some arguments of the technical kind to back them up. Personally, I like using small cargo ships because they're faster and in the end cheaper to produce/lose. I'm not saying they're generally expendable, it's just that when I lose a LC-using fleet, I seem to feel the financial hit more deeply. What to the rest of you think?

Well, it depends. For light raiding, or for cannon fodder sacrifice, go SC. Facing heavy planetary defense, it's usually better to use LC. Oh, and about the speed advantage you mention, it's of no use in any kind of a mixed fleet – your fleet is only as fast as the slowest ship in it. But SCs do seem to be more cost-effective, generally speaking.

I prefer small ones because you can send 10 of small ones one after the other. the possibility that some1 will intercept them is small because the small1 caries less supplies and most players wont be interested. any way its best not to send them alone I send up to 4 light fighters(usualy 2), just in case...
