Speaking about chronicles… Must I play them in a row or it is allowed to pick which one you like and play just that one. I really don’t have time to deal with everything on this world, so please recommend which chronicle is the best to play. I have other things to do.

I am not sure, but I think that you MUST play the chronicles in order, beginning with Saga1 – Prelude (chronicle 0), followed by chronicles 1 to 5. After that you continue with Saga 2 which has two chronicles so far (interlude and the 1st trone). Even as a casual player, you can make rather quick progress.
