Okay, long story short, I miss EQ1. But I can't isntall it onto my PC anymore, because I use a P3, 500mhz, 576 megs ram with an ATI Radeon 7500, and a 2 gig hard drive, how did it work with EQ in the first place? I don't know but it did. I just need something that is half decent and will get me 10+ FPS on raids and canhold all expansions. Where to go!?

build one or have somebody you know put it together for you after you buy the 9 things you need. you cannot buy a premade machine cheaper than what you can build it for anywhere. in most cases you can get better parts (like a better video card) for the same price of the pre-made one.

A few weeks ago I was pricing a PC for a mate, worked out that Dell would be cheaper than anything you could build yourself, that's against Priceless Computing stuff which is seriously cheap DIY gear.

If you are looking at buying premade stuff then I would look at www.ibuypower.com or www.cyberpowerinc.com . Both have similiar stuff and pricing. If you want to build then I would hit www.newegg.com . They are not always the cheapest, but they are usually close and are a very reputible company that will back their shit.

This hasn't been true for years now. Virtually all major dealers are capable of beating the price of components, on top of that most offer tech support and an all inclusive warranty.

The only thing worth DIY is taking a so-so PC and upgrading it.

don't know what you guys are talking about. going off the cheap piece of crap Paden listed on emachines for $350 i just priced the parts on eBay and can beat it.

that machine has a 2.6ghz and the one i found was a 2.7ghz. so the machine i built for $303 in this was .1ghz faster. everything else i assumed was crap like that emachine. thats even paying $80 for windows. if you already have a copy, then the machine is only $223 that i part priced.

The only people who claim that they can get a pre-built just as cheap (and as good) as homemade are people who don't know how to build computers or are just talking out of their ass.

You can still easy beat doing it yourself. You just need to know how to do it.

Example: Best buy has a WD 160GB drive right now for $39.99 after $90 rebate.

Piece that together with a AMD Sempron 2500+ with MB combo http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4304825?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG for $89

Add a sweet looking case
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=11-170-020&DEPA=1 $63

add in an nvidia 6600 128MB or so video card $180

a gig of PC 2700 DDR ram $66

dvd combo drive $50

Keyboard/mouse $30

19" CRT $99

And you have yerself a decent system capable of any current game for around $600
