Rogue of course. Unfortunately, there are tons of rogues out there these days (not saying that it's bad to play them, it's just that there's like 2 rogues for every class now lfg).

That's why I left BC. What's the difference between me and a 60+ power-leveled/twinked rogue? Nothing. I had 3 aa points. What use could I possibly be compared to BC's other rogues lol. So now I am up to 8 aa and counting. Slowly but surely...

The thing I like best about rogues is that they never train me.

Wizards? If there's one in sight of me I'm probably about to get trained.
Bards? By the time I see them, I've already been trained by them. Twice.
Other druids? smart enough to run away from people and egress.
Ebay Dr00ds? too stupid to survive their own trains.
Rogue? nothing sees them, nothing attacks them, no train to dump on me.

If you consider bards a melee class(after PoP I guess they are now), then I would consider them the funnest. Tons and tons of variety to suit your playstyle or different moods.

I had a blast leveling my bard, though I haven't had experience with one in almost a year so I have no idea how fun they are in PoP.

SK's for me. Of course the extent of me trying another melee was back in beta for a few days on each one.

Mostly, because SK's are so underestimated.
And I'm having fun duoing with a cleric in PoN while everyone else is waiting for a slower.

Bards are wicked fun , for me atleast heh.

Mezz, charm, rune, haste, regen of all sorts, buff any stat by sta, Slow, melee, dot, dd, run fast song.

But its all in the style of play you like

If I were going to play a melee again (my war got banned at level 30), I'd pick either a warrior again or a rogue.

Bard = pain IRL; though my setup probably doesn't help a lot to be honest.

Warrior is mostly a lazy class, puller if no one better, but no special tricks to deal with, either you pull it solo or you don't. If the shit hits the fan, nothing you can do but sit down and wait for rez and hope you kept it off the cleric long enough for him to camp/gate/etc.

Warrior isn't a lazy class. Esp not in the higher lvl's. If you want a class that you can go afk alot pick a rogue, monk, bst, mage etc any class that doesn't heal tank mez snare. Rogues, although cool, get old after awhile. Be a hybrid.

Tell that to the 58 warrior I sometimes duo with or bot.

I have to tell him what to do half the time or else he runs around "looking for pretty colors".

ITS NOT JUST HIM! like the last 6 warriors I've grouped with have done the same thing.

Ditto, I wish someone came up to me one day and gave me a high level ranger on TM, or even a shaman or SK would be sick as hell.

I love playing a rogue. Hands down the class for me. A bard is to much like work if you want to call a bard melee. Sk's and pally's are decent for sure but never played any of high level. Monks are fun to play and warriors are exciting as hell tanking a hard mob.

A rogue with SoS is damn cool though. To run around and never ever be seen unless you hit a trap is a nice thing. Escape is nice as well. They have a get out of death card free with escape.

They seem to have no problem getting groups seeing most PoP groups love to have three rogues in it. And almost every group will have at least one.

Good luck though. The new rogues are coming in by the truckload and have been for few years.

I don't mind twisting though I don't really enjoy it. What bothers me about
bard class is, like any other support class, if someone is missing a buff (or
in our case, mana song) they mention it within 2 seconds.

This drains a lot of the enjoyment from it for me.

Also the people who don't notice shit about bard songs but feel the need to
comment anyway.

War tells the raid, 'haste plz'

"..."

I dunno. I'm gonna b***h about something no matter what class I play, so I
might as well play the class that can DA and run fast.

I love playing my pally, then again, I've not in the 2+ years I've been playing EQ started an alt ... I've botted friends when they needed a break, but otherwise I'm totally happy w/ Prawn.

I think the answer to this really comes when you see a players main ... obviously they're going to have fun with that class, or there's not much point in playing it.

I picked a paladin so that I could do what I wanted on my own not with a shaman bot in tow everywhere =p Least until PoP =p Paladins are the most surviveable class under most circumstances, are (now at least) very good soloers until L61, and you get to like heal and buff people too, which is cool.

On raids at least, there's nobody that has to pay attention more than the MA/MT warrior. Being a damage dealer is way easier. I don't think one melee is particularly more difficult to play than another one in exp groups, but the warrior has to watch the cleric and enchanter, pick mobs, break mez, position the mob etc, where the damage dealers just assist and hit evade.

I love my warrior, but I think an AM3/EQ ranger would be fun to play on raids...not fun enough to make it worth leveling one up for me, but I do think it would be fun.

A paladin would be fun to play in groups, kinda like a warrior but more versatile, but seem kinda boring on raids unless you like buffing.

I know a bard can max my haste, but I still get it from the enchanter anyway. Why rely on a proc when you can just get the buff and know that it's up all the time? Most of the bards I know get SoV if there's an enchanter around too.

I'm biased but playing a hybrid is the most fun for me. Very versatile and I've found Paladins can be one of the most self sufficent melee solo. I think a bard would be fun to play also, they can do pretty much anything Smile
yet to try one though....

Guess my point was that during battle (normally epic procs when you're hittin stuff) tanks will inconvenience chanters by sayin "haste plz" even tho they've got 80% spell haste on em. Razz

I like playin necro / SK the best. Very Happy

one thing I like about the sk too is that in exp groups, and anything that doesnt require a defense disc, I think they make better thanks than warriors.
No waiting to break mes, just one cast and done. No waiting to build agro for 5 mins before everyone else can attack, just cast one spell or two and go. And no worries about losing agro in a fight. If for some reason it happens, sk gets it back in a second.
Pallies can be the same way.
Only problem is too many clueless pal/sk players ruin it for others.
