I do not know how the Warhammer Online RVR concept works, so I turn to you people to tell me. What’s the big deal about it? Everything rest about the game is clear to me, but RvR is complete blank. The whole WAR world is superb and I love the game very much. I am playing the game for short time, so I did not yet had the chance to be a part of RVR.

RvR, or for the players who do not know what that means, Realm versus Realm, is going to be very huge part of the game and very important concept. With it, almost every quest you begin, you will face numerous enemies. There will be big battles for territories, sieges with vast numbers of active players, and constant shifting of realm boundaries. It will be the first game to have such big battle principle, and many players will be pleasantly surprised. I think that Warhammer Online RvR is going to be a final nail in the coffin for other games. Just cannot wait to enter my first RvR battle.

If anyone is wondering about RvR and has played WoW.
Think about Alterac Valley battleground. Before they nerfed everything in it. it was basically a bg version of Dark Age of Camelot, Mythic's first big mmo which was heavily based around RvR. Taking keeps, destroying towers. etc etc. It's like that but all the time, and you get rewards for itjust like like the buff galv/balinda would give.

This is where WAR defines itself in my opinion.

Success or Failure in this area will dictate success or failure for WAR.

My girl is going to play with me and when I told her that we were on the side of good, but that there would be an army of evil across from us and they would be ACTUAL real people controlling them, she says, "I'm SCARED" hahahaha!

Can't wait!

hehe i wish i could get my gf to play mmos lol. I think war sounds like much more my sort of game. I got annoyed at wow, brilliant as it is, in how little the pvp affected the actual game. It seemed almost detached, which is i guess what is was technically. In WAR you can have an impact on the whole realm by RvR'ing, sounds awsome!

One of my favorite Games MMORPG was due to the RVR, that would be Dark age of Camelot.

RVR - Like others said is Realm vs Realm, As in like DAOC for example you had three realms, Hybernia, Albion, and Midgard.
They each had their own class and races.
You then would then at the correct lvl go into the Battleground and fight for keeps or towers, like a previous poster mentioned. Some would use siege equipment others just bang down doors with their abilities. Then you would have work your way through the castle or towers to the captians and kill them. Depending on lvl of tower/castle how hard it would be. You also had the open field battles.
Everything in DAOC rvr was for Realm points, You used the points for realm rank the higher realm rank the harder you where to kill and you could spend your realm points on abilities to give you, higher stats and all kinds of different realm abilities.
No Idea if wahammer be the same or not. HOPE so though Smile enjoyed it.

The only problems I found with it was the Huge zergs (many many people) you would find at one time to battle this was great when all sides where equal in numbers. But most of the time that was not the case, and made it painful for the underdogs at the time.

I really hope that Warhammer has fixed that issue in making sure realms are balanced.

I'm not going to break NDA so I can't comment too much on this, but I just recently saw some of the implications of what the end game pvp is like and where it's held, and I was completely blown away.

WoW has nothing even remotely anywhere NEAR this.

Warhammer is going to be a PvP-ers paradise. The two capital cities at release will be gearing up to tear eachother down. All 6 capitals were supposed to be out at release, but they cut 4 cities, as well as 4 classes, as to not delay the game any further. The game, however, will be up to par with what comes out at release.

At least, we hope so. =)

City sieges look amazing. I however really love the RVR zones in each tier, they look great and have multiple objectives such as capture points. Think of the fun Tarren Mill/Southshore battles in WOW except with a point and on a more epic scale.
