I have a day there. The jet ski is my favorite idea, because we could navigate the entire island in the lagoon and go to any of the beaches.

Definitely snorkelling, as far away as possible from other people.
And holy crap! That aquascope looks awesome. You should do that

Don't waste a day in bora bora on a jet ski. You can ride those anywhere, you can't see a place as awesome as bora bora anytime though.
I'd scope french p***y on the beach all day. =p

The Aquascope looks great, probably the best way to explore the sealife if you don't have a lot of time.
As for seeing the island, there's no better way to see it than with a helicopter tour.
I'm sure they have some public tours you can sign up for, they're usually not very expensive. If you're a small group of people (3 or more) it might pay off to just charter your own helicopter. It might end up being cheaper (or at least not more expensive) and you decide what route you want to fly - or if you want to take a closer look at something.
Depending on time/money you could, for example, also land somewhere and have a small picnic - considering the expensive thing about helicopters is fuel and not the pilot's time, you shouldn't dismiss the option right away.
Some of the most amazing spots are just too far out, or simply not accessable by car, for a ground tour, which are usually boring anyway :p

I wouldn't recommend this. Bora Bora has tons of underwater poaching gangs, and if you swim too far down, you might end up in their territory.

I thought a jet ski would be cool because the lagoon is huge and shallow, so we could navigate the entire island on one (or two). I as thinking of it more as a form of transportation than a joy ride.

Make sure to watch "Open Water" the night before you both leave.
