I'm going to be doing a trade / purchase very soon and I would REALLY like to know from your experienced realpoorers the following things:

1 - what's the best way to BUY an account to avoid being scammed? What should I be sure to get from the seller, and how should it go down?

2- what's the best way to SELL an account to avoid being scammed? What should I be sure to get from the seller, and how should it go down?

3- if I'm trading an account, how should the transaction go?

4- How do I know if I'm being scammed? What are some popular scams? At what point do I freak out and start asking Blizzard for my account back?

Ok.

a middle man is a guy not involved with a trade but is going to hold both stuff

account for account

they both give recovs two middleman middle man checks if pass/recovs work

and then give it to the other player.

acc for rs cash.

players gives info to middleman and other gives cash to middleman.

they switch.

That's hardly practical Bloody baron.

Where do I find a middle man that both parties can trust?

That sounds like a good idea.

How about getting phone number and address from my trade partner, to ensure that I can hunt him down and charge him with fraud?

Are there any people on realpoor that often act as middle men? admins/mods, etc?

Names and addresses wont always work. Who says they dont give you bad info? I say using a well known middleman is your best bet. Like maybe a admin of a forum you both frequent? Cool

best would be to make sure no recoveries r set and it has had no memberships. ppl often recover an account from its first membership pin or past rocovs. also get past passwords. or like ppl said theres always dont trade. account trades r always suspect. there is no for sure unscammable way
