I just got back from 9 days @ Disneyworld. The place was packed with people with that nice southern drawl. But I noticed that a large amount of them were obese. And not just the older ones but the young ones too. Don’t get me wrong I see a lot of fat people here in the NE to but not to that extent. So when I am trying to take my kid to a ride there they are 4 across waddling along blocking the whole path I ask them to move over so I can get by and I hear one mutter “Yankees are so rude” WTF just because you are fat & slow doesn’t mean everyone has to waddle at your speed.… Then there is this fat one in a cart with her Georgia Tech hat & shirt calling her kid, “hey idiot get over here”. Poor kid was like 4 or 5 years old nice way to build his self esteem! The last touch was the guy that drove us to the airport tomorrow that wished me a happy father’s day and hoped I would make it home in time to watch NASCAR.
So why are y’all getting so fat? Is it so hot that y’all don’t walk anywhere because it’s so hot or are your Ma and Pa just feeding you too much?

Well the South is a laid-back place but many people these days are too lazy to do anything to keep in shape. All the fried food was fine when everyone worked on a farm and went hunting but now most people have officeass jobs.
Btw when you're in the South you either mosey(or saunter) or stfu.

That's a great question, Zapper. I think Southerners, as a species, are dumber than their northern brethrin, and are thus more prone to eating mindlessly whilst in search of shiny trinkets to display in their cavelike abodes.
The best we can hope for is that they eventually get so huge that their third of the country sinks so deep that the ocean fills in, creating new beachfront property.

If we offer to let them secede do you think they will go? But I have to admit I ended up buying a lot of trinkets myself although mostly for my kids =p I did have to buy a Jedi Mickey.

The people i saw were not from Floriday they were all from TX or GA etc. etc.

The only Disney park I know of in the South is in Florida.

No, it isn't. But, don't fool yourself, there are plenty of southerners that live here.
And why complain about some slackjaw muttering, "Yankees are so rude?" Just say, "And you're fat, what's up?" If they try and start something, just walk faster than they run.
And, hell, you're always safe in the confines of Mickey's pristine white gloves!

As a New Yorker transplanted to the DEEP SOUTH, you can only imagine how my patience is tested on a daily, sometimes, hourly basis :p
It is de rigeur to just wait for people to do things. Drives me insane...everyone is a f*****g good samaritan...they let ten people pull out in front of them while traffic backs up. They chat it up with coworkers and customers--and many stop what they are doing--while ringing you up at WM. No one ever seems to mind, either...except me LOL
What's refreshing? Little things like no traffic jams; no bars/plexiglass partitions at the banks...you actually talk to a teller across a normal countertop;every guy holds the door for you, even the young ones--the ma'am and sir thing drives me nuts though..I tell the kids to call me Linda and they are like.../gasp!

Yeah my great-grandma ate deep fried food all her life and died a couple years ago at 90~ in great health. You just have to match your diet with your lifestyle.

LOL Scrab, you said Florida isn't in the South but you still capitalized South when you said Disney world was the only park in the area.
BTW, yea a lot of the hicks I see here are fat too, even though there are hardly any hicks in Palm Beach County (thank god).
Only hicks I see are usually the ones doing my landscaping. Yes, we use illegal immigrants also.
I love the hicks that give you attitude when they hear an accent that doesn't resemble an American one. All you gotta say is tho, "What? What was that? I make more money than you? That's right b***h, go back to your maintenance job because your patriotic ass likes to talk without having a formal education."

I'm from Georgia originally, everytime I go back I drive for all of my relatives because I can't stand to go that slow. I also notice that I speak like 4x as fast as everyone else. Buisness is pretty much the same as soon as you get past the entry level workers.

One thing though, that I have noticed about the Southerners. There are some bad apples. Well, actually, now that I think about it, it isn't just Southerners, it is anyone that lives the farmer or really rural laid back lifestyle. They are really welcoming and open hearted.
Example. If your car is broken down on the side of the road, even in Florida, I'd be willing to bet that someone who would be labeled as a redneck would stop and help you before anyone else.

Drugs seem to always be twice as potent in the northern states rather than my homestate, GA.
For instance, What i consider to be decent pot in my town is considered mexican brick s****y weed up North.
If people did drugs more im sure they wouldn't eat as much and therefor would not gain as much weight.
But really, if everyone would play raquetball a hour a day there would be no fat people. Rball kills some calories.
