I am looking for a good online game to play. Generally I like strategy games, but am open to plenty of other things. I have tried a few of things before... EverQuest 2 which I thought was horrible, Second Life, which I just never got (I never really figured out how to do anything), and Sims Online, which I liked at first, but it got boring. I also played puzzle pirates, but that gets boring as well, as for an online game, there's very little socialization, and you do the same puzzles over and over.
I am hoping for something which doesn't take a huge amount of time to learn how to play at all. If some aspects of the game take time to learn, that's fine, but I don't want to have to read a manual before being able to do anything.
Also, I'm not a big fan of games where the focus is on combat of any sort (unless it's purely strategic). The "hack 'n slash" genre doesn't appeal to me. Generally I see this in RPGs, and this is what Everquest 2 was, more or less.
I don't have a problem spending any amount a month, but I don't want to play some boring game.
Any suggestions?

Oh, I forgot to put I like Dragon Warrior/Quest style games, (which I believe is the same at Final Fantasy, or atleast early Final Fantasy type games), but have never seen a professionally done one (most are generally fan games only).

I just started playing a pretty new game called World Of Kung Fu. The graphics aren't the greatest but the gameplay is fantastic.
The best thing of all is that EVERYTHING can be bought ingame for gold so you don't need to spend any money at all if you don't want to 
|

Dota Allstars (Defense of the Ancients)
It's a custom map for Warcraft 3. It's very popular and quite fun.

Try Dofus... it's a turn-based strategy mmorpg... its 2d but i find it enjoyable... you can own a home and do silly things like fish all day...

If you want f2p give Tantra Global a try or Perfect world,
The new game Rune of Magic is going to be pretty big as well.
