What happens if you make the paypal payment and the person never shows up to give you the plat in game, and you dont go through a playerauctions or ebay service
what can be done ?

Even if you go through ebay or playerauctions there is nothing you can do. If you used Paypal you may be able to get it back but it depends on how he protected himself. There are ways to steal it that aren't too hard.  only buy from people you trust and NEVER buy from someone NOT in the US or you are open to fraud.

Thats the whole point of the feedback system in playerauctions/ebay etc. If someone screws you you slam their ass with negative feedback. People are weary about buying and selling to those with negative feedbacks.
You see someone with 100 positive feedbacks and 0 negative, its a pretty good bet you can trust them.

You can do that with ebay, playerauctions AND paypal very easily.
Paypal's does take a month though, but after 30 days you have a TON of accounts with great feedback.
Feedback means nothing on any of those sites.
There was recently a 'company' on Playerauctions that reversed all of there Paypal charges. Think they were from spain or mexico or something. They still have over 1000+ feedbacks because all the plat they sold were good deals, all the plat they bought via paypal, they screwed over the people
Like I said before, if they are not in the US then there is NOTHING you can do. At least if they are in the US you cant TRY to protect yourself and if you do get screwed there are state and federal agencies that *may* help.
