Hi! What the hell happened to Star Wars Galaxies? Sometimes I feel like I'm the last person in the universe who still plays this game. Being the quintessential Star Wars geek, I have a strange compulsion to keep playing, despite Star Wars Galaxies many changes and re-vamps over the last year. Is this game brain dead?

I used to play this game during closed beta period (and I think that was beta 2, when I got in the program). However, this game doesnt have that Star Wars feeling like other games, so I stopped playing after game was launched. I played game a little longer after Combat Upgrade was released, and game looked better then in beta. But still, maybe players were looking for online version of Jedi Knight, not totally new game.

Much like the OP. I have been repulsed by SoE's numerous fixes, tweaks and revamps. But, it's an onward struggle to keep myself from playing. Being a proud Star Wars geek.

Speaking of SWG. Its newest Chapter(Publish/REPLACE) is bringing in lots of content. Overly due, content. But, better 3 years late than never, right?

true it was fine in pre cu i thought, then the re-vamps they keep making one profession stronnger in an circle, plus you spent time gathering items and BOOM somethign new that will replace everything you worked hard to get is worthless, i was honestly thinking of quiting.

I played the game at release and for about 2 years after that, and I really enjoyed it before they started adding things like levels and such. I thought the game's Profession system was awesome and there were many other features that I enjoyed that they changed.
I was thinking about renewing my account and checking it out but really everyone I know who plays still says not to. NGE really messed it up from what I hear.

I don't really think they ruined the game yet. I mean it's a small community on there now but there's still plenty of stuff to do for the vets, and newer players.

It was some bad changes in the game, and lots of new games on the market what happened. The combat upgrade was too much for a lot of players, and soon World of Warcraft took over. And after that many others. The changes SOE made were just too big and there was a lot of players who didn't think the changes made it any better, quite the opposite.
