They don't gross me out at all, I don't find them cute or anything, but they're supercool to just observe. They way they move, the way they "hunt" and behave. I can watch my spider "take off his skin" (not sure what you call it in english) for hours, those tho, give me some shivers down my spine. How big are they? Like the size or a hand?

Nope, I was lucky. I had a few from arizona, they were about 6 inches long, no problems keeping them. I had another one, that one was a problem. Got him from my pal who supplied me with animals from SA. The indians that collected for him caught it in a pig pen, it was eating a baby pig. He ended up bringing 2 back to NY, he sold me the smaller one. It was close to a foot long, purple body, yellow legs with a redish head, very heavy body. It was a f*****g monster, every time I came in the room it reared up like a cobra and clicked it fangs. I kept it in a large glass jar for 2 weeks, it was NP feeding him them, he just threw himself at the glass attempting to get loose. I moved him to a flat plastic sweater box, so I could keep him on a shelf where I kept all my spiders. BAD move. The first time I attempted to feed him was a disaster. I opened the cage, glanced at the mouse I was holding in my hemostats and BOOM he was on my leg.
Down my leg, onto my boot and into the corner of the room I had set up in my basement, in I swear what was less than a second. Charlie the guy I bought him from said he was undescribed(no latin name) and possibly had a deadly poison, a week after I bought it. If I had known when I got him he was that much of a bad ass I would never have bought him, being I had a small child in the house.
Anyway...I looked at him in the corner, I could hear the centipede gears turning, he was lookn for a place to hide and there were alot of places in the basement to hide. I knew I could not catch him, way to fast and hard to deal with in my bare hands and I wasn't gonna risk a bite. So I crushed him, smashed him with my boot. He still tried to bite my boot untill I totaly smushed his head., mean f****r he was. Made a big mess too, a 35 dollar stain. I still have his body in the freezer, gonna mount him one day If he isn't to beat up. My ex was SO happy.
Someone get me a hanky, I'm tearing up....
