I usually don't answer (caller ID FTW!)..
but when the number/name tricks me.. and it's a telemarketer.. I usually f**k with them.
Sometimes I act like I'm mentally retarded..
and other times I tell them to stop calling my house phone cuz I'm trying to deal drugs from it.

Or when they say "do you want to buy double glazing" i just state a random fact such as "im wearing blue socks" ... usually keeps them away

I often just say "yeah sure I'll go get him" when they ask for me, and then leave the phone lying around somewhere. One of them stayed on for 8 minutes once.

I am actually sort of a tele marketer but we just call to verify companys information.
We actually offer free listings from my job, but they think we are trying to sell something and sometimes I can get really nice people. Other times people are real jerks.
I try to be nice now to the ones that call me because it is a really crap job and you have no idea how bad it is until you do it.
Do us a favor and just say you not interested and hang up. Thats all, no need to be a d**k.

I was a telemarketer once, and it was a terrible job. Between people being ridiculously mean about you calling 8 o' clock on a saturday, or them asking you if you like ****.
I quit after a week.

Lol i use something similar to what Jerry Sienfeld said in one of his shows.
I say i am busy atm and ask for their home phone number. When they say that they cant do that i say "oh so you dont want me to call you at your house, well now you know how i feel."
Ahh makes me feel so good deep down inside.

LOL! Just the other day i devised a plan, totally in character, i'll see an 800 number or whatever calling, and i'll answer the phone in the most deep south, superbly drunk combo i can muster, and pretend like i can't hear a word they're saying.
LOADS of fun  gets great laughs from my wife!

if its a guy i say stop calling me take me off your list if its a girl i ask her what she looks like. where does she live. she usually gets really annoyed and hangs up. or i ask them whats there home phone number and ask if i can call it randomly throughout the day and see if they like it

my friend is a blabber mouth. he never stops talking so if hes over and a telemarketer calls if give the phone to him and he trys to sell THEM something. its quite amusing

Haha , i love telemarketers ..
If i actually answer the phone to them i mix it up everytime ..
I like to mock them though , usually gets them mad and they hang up on me instead of vice versa .
Other times i just question their authority or throw curses at them making them feel like crap .

lol everytime they call me i just turn on the loudspeaker button so they cant hear me pick up the phone and i say "Hello, the person you have called is currently unavaliable, please leave a message and we will call you back later"

The only reason I have a house phone is because I have DSL, which required the house phone. Once I started getting way too many telemarketer calls every day, I just unplugged the only phone I have.
No more ringing, woot!
