Since I've never raided GoD or OoW, my general impression of enchanters on raids is refreshing VoQ, Haste, and Guard of Druzzil (or whatever the latest buffs are called).
In fact I can't even remember the last time I saw an enchanter doing anything during a raid other than being a buff w***e. It seems like "tank mezzing" things is preferable these days.
What fights require an enchanter to actually pay attention?
XP groups I see chanters doing all sorts of fun stuff, but it seems like on raids everything becomes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

well, besides being buff h0's, depending on where we are raiding...may have a pet to control...off tank slowing/debuffing...nuking...we do some stuff :p

Enchanters still do alot of mezzing.... PoT god's have a few for example, as for GoD and OoW i haven't a clue

I've been levelling Dunnzig the enchanter. Don't have any aspirations of raiding with him, though. I was worried my only place for mass mezzing would be LDoNs with a warrior pulling.

As long as Dunnzig isn't a high elf female chanter. Most high elf female chanters I've met have newly born babies that they have to go afk for every five minutes. I mean seriously, just admit that you don't have a f*****g baby and that you have to take a huge shit/smoke crack. Also most high elf female chanters are f*****g crazy. Yes, this means you, Preciouss.

But of course like most things after Kunark, it sucked.

enchanters sit in a cubby, mezzing the same 1 or 2 o3 mobs every 50 seconds for 2-4 hours straight (depending on how good you are)praying there mez dosent broken or that 1% chance of a memblur happens and wipes the raid.

Meleeing with a nonmagic weapon/bare hands really helps counteract the blur chance.

No AFK's, no LD's, and you sure as hell better not die. Not sure on GoD content, but up until GoD I would say Rathe was one of the most tedious and pain staking events ever... Mainly on the learning curve though. And no matter how good you are or how many times you've done it, there's always that slim chance of a memblur that will wipe most of your raid

Rathe event sucks...a lot. It's just tedious, and that itself made it hard. After a bit of time your mind starts to wonder off. In a previous guild I think we did four attempts in a single night, for about a total of 5 or so hours of mezzing. If I didn't care to get to PoTime I would have said f**k it after 30 minutes.
As for the role in a raid, it depends. Sometimes a buff w***e. Sometimes doing a lot of CC. Sometimes a lot of weak nuking. Sometimes a mix of everything. I couldn't think of another class I would rather play; but I'm sure many people say that with their main.
