After reading the news for the past couple months, I keep asking myself one question 'What in the hell are the Democrats thinking?'

Bush is a weak candidate. He's too far right on social issues. His economic plan makes zero sense. Even his 'big government' views are completely at odds with everything Republicans have been saying for the past 25 years. His sole strongpoint is foreign relations.

Despite this, the Democrats managed to push forward a politician that is even weaker. They push forward a candidate with no apparent views other than a near religious adherance to the latest poll numbers. This candidate has chosen to virtually ignore every issue except foreign relations. Aside from a few weak stabs at the economy, Kerry has campaigned virtually exclusively on his dubious military career and his assertions that he 'would have handled the war better.'

Hello? Earth to Democrats. Countless polls show this is the one area that the majority of the country agrees with Bush. Pandering to the minority will not give you a majority of the vote. How about giving us a real alternative to Bush's nonsensical economic plans? Or give us an alternative to the ridiculously oversized federal government? How about giving us an alternative in general? Choosing between a man I mostly disagree with and a man who will agree whatever 51% of the country wants is not much of a choice. For God's sake, all the Democrats had to do was put forth a credible middle-of-the-road politician and he could have taken this election handily.

Is this the best the Democrats could come up with? For that matter, is this the best the Republicans can put forth? Neither seems to exemplify the ideals of their respective parties.

Probably has something to do with the fact that the two parties are really just one big party.

Kerry is a show canidate, to make it appear Bush has some opposition. If the Demo's were really hellbent on getting the White House, they would have run Gore again (that b******t about him not wanting to run is a crock of shit).

Democracy is dead, and everyone killed it by letting these a******s get too much power. Sadly, the only thing that'll change it is if there's a revolution.

having Gore run? gawd, that would be a pretty stupid idea. Sad thing is that if one party had a semi decent candidate we would see 60% to 30%, but both candidates are so crappy that the race is tied.

From the most powerful nation in the world, these two yahoos are the best we can have for president?

Personally I think they want to lose so Hillary can run in 2008. That or they think americans are so stupid they can get someone elected by doing nothing but using one guy to pick every side of every issue and simply repeat that they could do things better and whos a better canidate to try that with?

Do they really think Hillary can win? I wonder if there has been some polling on this. Hillary seems like a weak candidate to me, but this is coming from a right-wing libertarian.

I don't think Hillary could win unless we were in a time of relative peace. The warmongering population wouldn't trust her to lead us in a time of crisis, and the Middle East might be a little leery of dealing with a woman.

Not saying that Hillary couldn't lead us, but...

All signs seem to point to Hillary taking the spotlight in 2008, from what I can tell, but I'm not very political.
