I can recommend replacing your DSL equipment if it's over 3 years old.
AFter i moved i finally figured i'd replace my old one because according to my provider i should have an 8mbit line yet only got 450-500k/sec max download.

Just upgraded my alcatel old fart modem + draytek router for a brandspanking new Thomson Speedtouch 546i.

My avrg download rate went up from 450-500k/sec to 1300-1400k/sec!!!!

Holy christ, i am one happy puppy..

Moral of the story, upgrade tech every 3 years . It's worth it )

Don't let the media convince you that a digital subscriber line (or loop, if you prefer) needs to modulate or de-modulate sound. There really aren't any "modems" for digital devices. -Mo-ulate, Dem-odulate.

Unfortunately, people don't know what else to call the connecting device, so they just call it a "modem." Google says: Results 1 - 10 of about 2,320,000 for "dsl modem"

yeah i know, i used to get upset when people did the same thing but after trying to explain this to 2342342342 people i just figured it was easier to call it a modem Razz

Anyhow, T3 > DSL on speed but seriously.
Why would i spend 5-15k a month on a T3 when 99% of torrents never go over 200k/sec anyhow ;P

25$ a month for 1.2mb > 5k a month for 44mb Razz

You got a 8 megaBIT line right? You are getting 1300-1400k a sec? Thats pretty slick to get an extra 2 megabits of speed out of it. of course, maybe you are talking 1300-1400kilobits a second but that wouldn't make alot of sense ;p
