One of my pugs kicked the bucket recently. My other pug, Stumpy needs a new companion for when I'm away so I have been wondering how to fill the slot. Buy a new pug at $600 to 900 a pop? Adopt one? I figured it would be good to pay a visit to the animal shelter.

Translation:

Animal shelter = Auschwitz

I walked the halls of death with about 150 sets of eyes on me. So many pits and pits mixes, its amazing how many are tossed away because they are nuts.

No pugs, or pug mixes, nothing I was interested in. Some were cute, wimpering at me and wagging their tails as I walked by. I know they have to die but I still felt like crap for close to 45 seconds, when I walked out knowing I didn't save one.

I always had a good time when I went to monkey jail. Seeing all the scumbags in their cages, know some would never get out. That was always an uplifting experience. But animal jail is a bummer.

So I came home, heated up a nice cup of green tea and turned on some Carpenters. A little Rainy Days And Mondays, and We've Only Just Begun where just the ticket. Then I remembered Karen Carpenter starved herself to death and I was depressed again.

I wish there were a few pigeons on the roof, or it was deer season again.

http://www.pugs.org/
go to adoption/rescue page for a listing in your area

http://www.petfinder.com
put youre info in there too to search

They're out there...keep looking. Remember the dobie we ended up with from the pound. IMHO you're doing the right thing by adopting Kbarr...and the right dog WILL show up if you look for it

All my grandparents made it to in their late 80s, males too. And some had major illnesses.

I come from hardy stock.

Good chance I outlast you.

You worthless punk.

If Karen Carpenter had eaten Mama Cass' last ham sandwich, they might both be alive today.

Don't be. I consumed a large slab of corned beef with some cabbage. All is good in the world again.

100% b******t. Mama Cass's last ham sandwich had absolutly nothing to do with her death. Her jaw was wired shut by doctors in an attemt to make her stop eating. She was drinking stuff instead.

She died in part because of this. You see, she vomited and the (vomit) had no where to go. She drown in it.

Yeah, I know. It's a bad joke/cultural reference. Google it; you'll find a thousand variations Wink
