Does anybody know of any jewelry designers that make cool wedding bands? I have simple tastes, so I'm leaning towards a plain platinum band, but I saw a few others that kind of interest me. Furrer Jacot makes some bands I like (pictures below). Besides them, I haven't seen any that peak my interest other than a plain, polished platinum band.

I half expected that if I looked closely at that picture of the ring, I'd see a reflection of a fat hairy naked guy holding a camera.

You spend way too much money on this woman. Perhaps its the only thing that keeps her with you!

Moron. This is going to be my wedding band. She's buying it for me (which is how we understand the tradition to be). The first one she saw she liked was $7,000 and she wanted to buy it. It had diamonds in it, though, and I don't want any of those. The type of ring I want is under $1,000. Those ones above are just a little bit more than that.
I do find the titanium rings interesting. I like the way they look and I want to go check some out. I've never seen them in a store that I can remember, though.

In that case, maybe it should be personalized.

go with the first 2. More emphasis on the middle one. The third one just looks to tacky to me to be used as a wedding band.

LOL... I totally expected to see that as well.
P.S. the first 2 rings are cool, but the 3rd one looks like a miniature rolex bracelet.

LOL those were funny, I have to admit.
But seriously, the first rings posted are really nice designs I like structured, simple architectural styled stuff like that.
Platinum is a soft metal. Its not going to wear down as much as have a shift in the molecules, so it can get smooshed and scratched and some designs can be hard to refinish. The middle ring you showed is problematical that way. The other two can have their satin finish restored more easily. The third design is sold with Rolex wearers alot.
Alot of it depends on your lifestyle. If you just sit at a computer all day, your ring will fare better. Likewise if you become a divorce statistic sooner than later.
You should know that they will change with wear. The last ring shown can most easily be refinished as the surface degrades due to wear.

Get a traditional ring although there are some hinged rings that are very nice. It's all about comfort and the first 2 rings don't look comfortable to wear for an extended period of time since it looks like that they would be abrasive against the fingers surrounding the ring finger. And you don't want any excuses to yourself to take that thing off since that could cause all kinds of problems down the road. Silver, Platinum, Titanium, from a guys standpoint, who really cares.
