It's just not working out for me! I'm always short on cash, I keep going around with inadequate equipment… What am I doing wrong? I don't think I'm an "over-the-top" spender, but I don't know, in most RPGs expense eventually evens out with income, but not in GW. What should I do differently to keep the gp flowing?

Here's couple of tips from an FAQ, and it's all sound advice, so I suggest you follow it:
"1) Do not spend more than you need to. Replacing your armor frequently is useful but expensive. You can save a lot of money by hitting up the collectors instead. 2) Be selective about which items you salvage. Make sure you're planning to get a decent item out of it. Basic unimportant items should either be sold outright, or use a basic salvage kit." I hope that does it for you…

Well, when i used to play GW, there were some trolls in this cave outside one of the main cities in the snowy mountains (cant remember any names it was that long ago). I was a warrior/monk. Can also be done with monk/warrior. Look on www.google.com and type in Guild Wars Troll Farming and see if there are any useful links. Made me one rich dude.

it was outside of droks like to the left and i think its not as good as it use to be they did some type of update and when u farm only like 3-4 attack u and then the rest run away its kinda wierd

Yea, they made the AI smarter so when you activate Gladiators Stance or whatever they run from the damage. It sucks because this was one of the easiest farming spots and could get some nice golds when you had favor.

Best bet, can make over 100k if you do it all day. About 44 smites and 20 attxes to kill. Smiters have 1% chance for ectos, and attxes have a 2% chance. Thats normally 2 ectos per run, an ecto being 8-9k. Do it 10 times (about 7-8hrs/a whole day) thats 80-90k. =D
