Actually, it doesn't sound like the deployment to Iraq hurt that much. LA has around 10,000 national guard, of which 3,500 or so are in Iraq, another 3,500 have been activated to help with the disaster relief, and 3,000 are still available. Didn't say anything about equipment, but I assume they don't leave the troops here but send their equipment overseas.

I think that's really interesting... if you note the caption for the picture with the whie people in it, the phrase is "after finding bread and soda from a local grocery store"... now, I understand typos run rampant on Yahoo news, but you don't find something from somewhere else, but you do loot something from somewhere.. it seems pretty likely that the caption was cut/pasted and then edited. Very funny.

The main difference is she had a loaf of bread, not a bucket of beer not a shopping bag full of shit. I could understand looting a grocery store for essentials of life, and not being greedy incase other people are in the same boat. But what you are not seeing is the looting that going around from department stores where people are stealing clothes and Jewlrey. They need to re energize those circuits and zap who ever is stealing that shit.
