I've been only marginally interested (and informed) in the game until recently, but for some reason it has piqued my curiosity now. I hear there will be a morale system involved in character building? How will that work on a personal level, I mean, I can imagine that for armies it would be granting combat bonuses if in the positives, and either dishing penalties or routing the army if negative, but how does that work for a single character?

This has been answered a number of times, see an FAQ or something before posting a question like this next time. To cut a long story short, morale works much like "mana" in some other games - it's a scaling stat bar which fills up as you fight, and expends when you activate various special abilities. You can spend it in small increments on minor abilities, or let it build up to full power before expanding it on a major ability.
