I was told to come back here asking for help :)
to sum up, after reinstalling WC3 many times on the MAC, I end up with this error message:
The application Warcraft III could not be opened because "CursorDeviceLib" could not be found (-18).
I am trying to set it up so we can both play over battlenet using my Linksys Router. I have 2 CD keys that are valid but am playing from a burned disk on the Mac. The PC is working fine. I've reinstalled a bunch of times and finally was able to DL the patch. After patching, I clicked on WC3 and I got that error. I've searched online for error 18 and "cursor device lib" but can't find a thing.
Before I got that error, I was on tech support and he had me mess with the port numbers and crap (I think reinstalling with a new key would have worked which I did later). Anyway, that is the error I get now. I am trying to avoid another reinstall since it's a pain and I already have multiple times. If you know what a cursordevicelib error is, lemme know. Thanks.

So you downloaded the game and burned it to disc? You most likely got a corrupt file in your original dl.

I have the game (bought copy) but burned it so we could play on the second comp. The CD keys for both are valid though.
I installed using a burned CD.. I guess I could try installing from the good CD and playing from the burned one.

Is there a way to change the CD key I entered without reinstalling?
Also:
if I do have to reinstall, what is the patch called and can I save that so I do not have to reDL it ?

im not sure if im reading ur post correctly
but if you are trying to play warcraft 3 with a burned CD in the drive instead of the actual CD, it isn't going to work
theres copy protection on the CDs, it allows you to make a copy for installation but that copy cant be used as a play disk

Just get the no-cd hack.

Just did this so it isolates the problem (sorta):
I installed using the bought cd.
I updated and tried to play (with the bought cd key/disk) and it crashes when the update is installing (when the install bar is full). Even if I can get the update to install (I crashed multiple times and did a clean install everytime), i get that cursordevicelib error.
It's a Macintosh problem since the CD and key are legit/purchased/paid for. I read on a site that I should be able to play VS on a router without having a problem (I did all the configuring). I know I have done this before using TCP/IP (with different games). I don't understand why they don't have that option for the people that actually paid for the damn game.
I still like Blizzard but not being able to have 2 people in the same household play (EASILY) is bunk. I don't have any patience left to go screwing with Mac settings. I would prolly have an easier time using this pc coffee table that hasn't been plugged in in a year.
Gonna go back to console games. Which brings me to my new post:

Thanks for the advice. If anyone is a Mac guru and recognizes that error, lemme know.
