Anyone know of any really really hard games. I am talking like Transformers for NES hard. FFX Chocobo races was hard for me, took me forever to beat it. Pretty much all games now are way too easy minus some puzzle crap like Sukoden Black Belt for GBA. RPG/Action games preferred.

Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox was frustrating at times.

Honestly, for consoles you need to go back to SNES/NES titles. Otherwise PC puzzle games (Myst, 7th Guest, etc). Stuff like Ninja Gaiden, DDR (yes, really), online rts/fps/poker, etc. The only other hard games are some of the older adventure/platformers.

There was this old platformer game called "GODS" that I played on my Atari ST (it was released on SNES and probably PC also) that scaled the difficulty up on you (supposedly it was supposed to scale down if you died too much but it never did), it got hard fast

Being a perfectionist helps to make easy games hard. Having said that, it also takes a lot of fun out of those easier games.

For true. I don't know many people that can run the game on a single credit. Sometimes I think the game WANTS you to die, and die again and again.

You'd be right. Coin-op magazines have been lamenting the 'death' of the industry since about 1990. Why would anyone buy a $20,000 sega sit-down driving machine, which is only fun in pairs or quads (Hello $80,000 investment at a pizza joint!) when the return is $250 / month?
No one wants to go to 7-11 and drop $40 in quarters on the latest Mortal Kombat any more - there's no reason to. WoW is only $15 a month! Lozzle.

I remember back when i was like 10 and i'd go to the bowling alley with my grandma when she had games and watch people play the arcade machines and some dude plugged like 15 bucks into some Simpsons game to beat it.

Yeah. The four player Simpsons game is far superior to your life.

Castlevania 64 wasn't THAT horrible, but it definately wasn't anywhere the best. I enjoyed it when they brought it out. Definately prefer Castlevania 1-3, Super Castlevania, and SoTN though.
