While this is an ongoing debate in the game forums, I was wondering is this the kind of thing that will garner new interest in EVE and bring fresh subscribers to the universe, just to run around in station cantina's trying to drink cyber-brews and hit on female avatars being controlled by pimply-faced carebear dudes with no RL girlfriends? Or is the game just fine with pew-pew and cut-throat politics at the point of a turret?
Damn that's a long sentence.....LOL

I haven't heard many people that play really that interested in having in-station environments like that - most people would just rather they focus on improving the game that we have rather than adding new features that are basically useless.
I don't think it'd attract many people either - maybe at first but once you undock it'll still be the same game.

Well the main point in MMORPG is that you play with other caracters. To meet face to face ingame is better that "meet me at point x,y,z " and speak ship to ship.
I think it would be a great concept. Make a circular section where you could access the various menu, like weaponry, sale & trade, Medical.
Ya I think it would be great.

Never really saw the purpose of that, for this game revolves around space trading, pirates, fights, astroid mining, how much time would you spend in station?

Why pick on the guys without girlfriends?
Walk-in stations, planets, bases... this can only help the game.
EVE needs extra content, it's easy to get bored and disinterested. If it weren't for being able to purchase game time with ISK through their official forums, a lot of people wouldn't bother with it.

This should be added sometime as it was announced... 2 years ago now ? They even put a preview video of this that can be found easily on youtube and such.

I dont think the feature will do much for the game unless they can figure out a way to make it advantagous to take the time to get out of the ship.
It just sounds like another slowdown that most (especially veterans) will most likely opt out of. (like the new graphics engine). Unless they have to in order to get to the market, agents, etc. (which would most likely cause real problems among old player attitudes if there isnt an opt out feature).
This sort of game experience has been tried in multiplayer arena's before (battlecruiser, freelancer, etc.) and I dont see any of them with 30,000+ players daily or even around.
Personnaly, I would rather see freelancer made into an MMORPG as I really miss the cockpit view and flying with my joystick. I think freelancer would have been just as big as EVE if it would have went MMORPG. and it was very similar to EVE (market, system gates, etc.) a good melding of the two would be perfect.
My biggest wish for EVE would be a cockpit view but it doesnt suit its combat. Walking around in station doesnt appeal to me.

I agree 100% that the cockpit view style would be definitely a winner for my spaceship (harpy)
