Player base is around 10k.. off hrs it drops to around to 350 and right now there is around 4k online. you cant see more then 64 players at a given time or you would lag and CTD aka EQ raids.. So there maybe 150 players or so Fighting over a town but you only see 64players.

eh.. sort of, but think more like Planetside, kinda a massive multiplayer FPS game.

I played it a couple years ago, its an extremely fun game if you really get into it but the learning curve is very steep, it took me like a week before I was actually able to play effectively, but the players actually work as a team in the game, it has a great community, too bad I don't remember my account info.

I've always wanted to try that game.

I tried planetside and it is very fun indeed.

I love battlefield 1942..

But those graphics look like poop.

Questions..

How does this game compare to BF1942, gameplay wise?

How is the infantry combat? Is it similar to Call of Duty/Day of Defeat?

heck yea the graphics arent that great but they have been adding in new things with an addition to the graphics engine... new trees\bushes forests have just came in last patch, much more to be added soon.. Ill take gameplay over graphics anyday tho.

great thing about the game is that your success has to do with your personal skill\tactics rather then how many hours you put into the game.

Sure, they dont have the dev team that a Sony\WOW team does but they do work hard and have been tyring to release new patches every ~1-2 months.

The fun really comes in when you start working with a squad on teamspeak. Wheather you chose to play Axis(german) or Allied (French or British), if sure anyone would have a blast Talkin with friends on teamspeak and kickin some butt.

Meeatsu id say its leaps and bounds above Bf1942 when gameplay is involved, they model all their equipment closely to what it was IRL with the best information they can gather. BF1942 is more of an arcade\counter-strike type game, whereas WW2online is more of a strategy\simulation\FPS game.

Infantry combat has been making some great improvements to it over the last few months. You do not have a little red aiming DOT in the middle of your screen like in DoD, you hold your right mouse button and your gun sights center on your screen, just like you shoot a rifle in real life. They just added Lean ability to the game like in Call of Duty. Most of the buildings you can enter, and they will be updating the buildings soon again.

The game has everything intergrated, Air\sea\land, all at once going on all around. Not to mention a HUGE map (1 single Zone), id say about 50X the size of any single Everquest Zone.

And one of the best parts it there is little to None AI, if you run across any enemy\friendly units, it IS another guy on his computer, wheather he be a friendly truck\Tank driver lookin for infantry to drive to battle, or a British Spitfire dogfighting your german me109.

fun stuff

ahh cool so it uses iron sights? Wish more shooters would lean towards having them. I will have to look into tryin' out this game soon Smile

Anyways about BF1942.. I don't really play it, but I play do play some of the mods.. Forgotten Hope is pretty amazing as is Desert Combat.. BF1942 itself kinda boring, s****y weapon/class selection etc but the mods imo make it fantastic.
