I'm having a hell of a time playing as night elf. I'm pretty much undefeatable with Orc, decent with human, somewhat s****y with undead, and unbelievably s****y with night elf. Maybe they just don't meet my playstyle?
I hate the Blizzard forums. Anyone here want to share NE advice? Hugs?

Let's see uhh against humans Bears/Dryads is a nice counter.. you can sort of hero rush with the guy who has immolation .. try to rush to your hunts as fast as possible otherwise you usually get raped.. get some archers first of course though.. for 1v1 I prefer either the guy with immolation or the treant guy

you probably dont want both the immolation guy and the treant guy at the same time though loloololol

Harass with your Demonhunter. Build archers...tech...get panda or warden. Build dryads and DotTs. Tech...get bears and chims.
Harass alot, expand early and micro, micro, micro.

You also said get hunts though...which you don't want to do since you really want to start your tech first then build a hunter's hall.

I dunno I like to have melee relatively early because of grunts/footmen f*****g your archers.

That why you need to micro, micro, micro. :p
You also need to build your base right so your archers can't be surrounded. Force melee to walk single file by your trees. Your trees deal a TON of damage and your archers can still focus on individual grunts while they can't focus on your archers. It also makes it difficult for your opponent to pull his damaged melee back so you're more likely to kill his troops. Toss in your moonwells and the odds are good you won't lose anything.

Good advice, all. I'll focus on that.
I played against a guy earlier who had unbelievable NE defense. Completely stomped my ass (I was human). Very embarassing. I fumbled that game badly.

Make a burrow and altar first. Keep pumping out peons. Build a voodoo lounge as soon as you can.
Pump out peons until you have enough $ to simultaneously build barracks and keep pumping out peons. Should have about 10-11 food used @ that point.
Blademaster pops out. Buy a 70 gold mana-over-time potion. Windwalk him (it's only 10% speed @ level 1 but everything helps) to all possible enemy bases till you find the enemy.
Should be able to start grunt production at this point.
Run invis to his peon area and being chaos. If he's any good he has the dust of detection, and you'll have to run for your life. If he sucks, go invis again and wait 10 seconds. Kill more peons. You have enough mana at this point to go invis one more time. Use this time to escape.
This harassment should set the opponent back 200-300 gold / wood.
Run back. On the way back, chug your mana. Once at base, buy the 3-charge, 100 gold healing squirts. Use one on BM (he should be pretty hurt).
You should have 3-4 grunts at this point. Start gaining xp and build 7 or so grunts. While 6th or 7th one is building, or if you have spare $ in the meantime, build a war mill.
Pump out headhunters, 8 or more. While doing this, your gold should trickle upward to 350 slowly. The only research you should do, if any, is the 25 gold building spike upgrade.
Upgrade to stronghold. While this is going on, stay healthy and replenish any lost troops.
When stronghold done, you should be level 3-4 and have about 14-16 units of mixed grunts / headhunters.
Put down an animal trainer, uh...building thing. The one that spits out raiders and kodos.
Spit out your 2nd hero (I like the TC). Make 4-5 raiders and a kodo. Maybe a bat if you have money and aren't being harassed.
**BUY SCROLLS AT THE GOBLIN MERCHANT**
**BUY HEALING POTIONS FOR YOUR HEROES**
AE protection scroll + AE healing scroll and this army around the 15 minute mark will pretty much stomp anyone else. If they go high tech to start with, they can't defend. If they go lots of units, they don't have the upgrades to compete.
The weakness is: if you're a s****y micromanager or can't harass too well with your blademaster, there won't be much of a 2nd fight. The first fight will either win you the game or lose it so.. have fun!

Help someone who sucks at TFT.
How does one manage ranged fighters, in that the battle formation of 5 Melee/5 Archers will stay in a formation where it'd make it dificult for the enemy to flank the fighters and lay waste to the ranged.

I know I suck, am new, but could siege weapons be the counter for that strat?

Only if you play the strat poorly.
The key to Night Elf is harassment. The reason people play Keeper and DH as first heroes is that it allows them to constantly harass their opponent's base and heroes. If you watch high level NE play, they are constantly harassing to steal creeps or pick off injured units and workers. There's two reasons for this. First, it allows you to level your hero at the expense of your opponent's progression but more importantly, it gives you a constant update on what your opponent is building and where his army is.
Additionally, with good micro, archers are a semi-decent counter to siege attacks. If you are still in trouble, faerie dragons make a wonderful counter as well. You're still going to lose a building but Night Elf have the advantage if they can survive the initial siege push without losing more than a tree or two.
