Apparently he scored a 6 out of 50 on the Wonderlic test (IQ test). Then the next day they came out and said it was "scored incorrectly" and he retook it and got a 16 which was only 2 points higher than last year's lowest score for a QB.

Not that I care about VY, but I thought it was kinda funny.

This assessment roughly corresponds to the averages revealed, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, by an NFL personnel man in Paul Zimmerman's "The New Thinking man's Guide to Pro Football," which are:

Offensive tackles: 26
Centers: 25
Quarterbacks: 24
Guards: 23
Tight Ends: 22
Safeties: 19
Middle linebackers: 19
Cornerbacks: 18
Wide receivers: 17
Fullbacks: 17
Halfbacks: 16

Hah, I played offensive tackle in high school. They're the smrtest!

The question is did he really score a 16? or did he score a 6 like his original score and then have it covered up by the NFL so people wouldn't see that the big star is really a total moron?

I don't see how anyone could score a 6. Did you look at the sample questions? "Which of the following four months is the ninth month of the year?" "If a foot of rope costs ten cents, how many feet of rope could you buy for sixty cents?" "Are the following two names identical: J.D. Blow - J.D. Blow?". If you can read, you can get a 10.

Steve Young scoring low surprises me, but certainly McNair's score doesn't.

I like how one of the articles mentions last year's low scorer - J.P. Losman. Boy, what a GREAT quarterback he is!

I never remember anyone calling Steve Young dumb, at least before his 10 concussions.

That must be a typo. Centers should be on top. The OTs we had on my HS team were morons. Huge morons...

Son of a b***h. Can't we all just get over the sports star as a rolemodel thing already? So long as we're entertained by watching them play their game, no one oughta give a shit how well they scored on an IQ test.

WTF are you talking about? Having a sub-60 IQ doesn't have anything to do with being a role model, but it can definitely effect your ability to learn a complicated NFL offense.

We've been laughing about this all week at work, and no, not just over Vince Young's 6. Honestly, you have to be really dumb to get below a 40. Anybody who can type here, and thus knows how to spell (theoretically!) and knows/remembers where to find letters and numbers on the keyboard, couldn't possibly score below a 40.

It's so nice of the NFL to give dumb jocks a chance.
