I can't remember what motherboard I currently have, but...
I just got a Geforce FX5700 LE vid card and I have a question.

In the game Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines, my processor P4 1.6ghz was above the minimum specs, but just barely. My old video card was right on the line. So I upgraded the video card. The problem I have now is this: Why is it still "choppy" It loads at the speed I predicted it would, since that should rely on the processor, but moving around in the cityscape, or say when it starts raining, the processor shouldn't have anything to do with it, should it? It's kind of frustrating. Whenever my character enters a fight, the speed is perfect, and I suffer no lag or choppiness.

Is my processor slowing my new card down? Should my next step be upgrading that and my MB or getting 512 more ram, which is what I have now.

Thanks and spleens,

That's a dumb question. Your processor has a lot do with everything, especially games. Upgrade!

In otherwards, if you put a ferrari engine in a mac truck, it's still going to go slow, because it doesn't have any torque. Buy a body to go with that engine.

I wouldn't say it was a "dumb" question, as he also presented other alternatives for his lag situation. For instance the stuttering was present for me in EQ2 beta, until I upped the memory. Which means it was not a processor solution. Does the hard drive run in correlation to with the game getting choppy, because this would indicate that the game is working out of virtual memory. I understand the processor is above the minimum specs, but what are the recommended specs and where is your hardware in relation to them?
