Question,
My video card gets all jumbly and the graphics get jagged/ misdrawn, triangles and broken lines appear all over the place. This happens only when I play games like Planetside or Max Payne 2. I think it has to do with their requirements being high and causing the video card to overheat. But when I turn off the computer and let it cool down for an hour the same thing happens right away again, which doesn't make sense. I can't figure out what's wrong. I tried turning down the display settings. Reseating the card. Reinstalling drivers. Reinstalling the games. I'm out of ideas, help?

What video card is it? If it's just those two games I'd go look to see at the game's website if there are certian driver problems people are having with that game.
Could be directx that's f****d up too. It very well could be your video card is just gone. Best way to see is just pull it out and install it in another system to see if gives you the same artifacts on screen. Well that's if you rule out the above.
Heh, i'm running a video card that's like that. It wont do Unreal2 or splinter cell on any system it's installed in. Runs Halo and planetside fine though so kinda surprised what those two former games have the later don't. Used to be fine in those games, but I was overclocking some and I'm pretty sure that had something to do with it lol.
