Ok I just didnt see anything to defend. With respect to the current elections, I could care less who served when, what, and where. (Heh, I just noticed that they left out John Edwards who didnt serve.) I know that each President, including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and all the others that came before, rely on many people, including the Pentagon, to make decisions. The actions after serving do have an impact on my opinion. For example, Kerry's comments made after Vietnam really bother me because he made those comments while the war was still going on and some of the comments were directed against the troops, however, I could care less about how he got his medals.
I am concerned about the troops, and I have seen the environment Kerry and the other Democrats have made for the troops from the choice of words used to discredit Bush. I know that they are trying in some way to find an "opposite side" from the Republicans, but they really went about it the wrong way in this election (even with omitting that it took many times to find a concrete stance). The time for arguing if a war should be undertaken is before the war starts not in the middle of it. If there are problems in the middle of the war, then people should be scutinizing the generals making the decisions on the field instead of saying, "Wrong war at the wrong time and wrong place." I've voted for Democrats in the past and was even undecided up until a couple months ago. Not anymore, and I won't forget the things that were said and done by the Democrats from this election when the time for other elections comes around.
