Which one should I play? They both sound really cool from the flavor text on the site, but I just don't know, I like the ranger's focus on archery and all that, but the disciple sounds really useful, like the monk in Guild Wars. Which one would you guys recommend, and why?

Well it's passing strange that you'd have a dilemma between these two, since they are totally different in both roles and style. If you're considering disciple because you heard it's "the best class", forget about it, it's been nerfed some time ago.
But I guess you can always try out both for yourself and see which one you like better.
