Are they good enough? Compared to the other races, I mean? They get +1 to Dex, +2 to Int, and +1 to Wis, and also Elven Wisdom and Spawn of Helufir (is this worth anything?), as well as +10 Finesse and +5 skinning. How does this compare to the abilities of the other races?

Just one correction – they don't get +1 Wis, they get +1 Wis [i] per level [/i]. Quite a difference there.
As to how well they compare to the rest, I'd say pretty well. They seem balanced enough to me, although I've heard a few complaints. (But then again, who hasn't, right?) I suggest you try it for yourself.
