What are some of the big MMORPG's that are supposed to be coming out in the next year or so?

Planetside

WoW looks really good!
But, then you have to deal with classic blizzard games and them being hack to hell and back... so you have to think, is it really worth it? (I'm just going on their track record. Great games, poor internet implimentation)
EQ2 has a familer story that most of us would identify with, might be comforting.
As for the rest... lets just say they can stay on the store shelf.

I was thinking the same thing. I am planning on getting Planetside though, I'm liking what i've played of beta so far.
WoW looks like it could be alot of fun. But theres only 4 races, and 2 classes for each race kingdom or whatever (Warrior/Magi for Humans/Dwarfs, and Warrior/Shaman for Orcs/that other race), so far anyway, not sure if Blizzard is planning on adding anything more. I'm not all that familiar with the Warcraft story line. Seems like that if theres only 3 total classes, that it wouldn't be too diverse...

By familiar story, I think he just meant a sequal to a game we already know the story line/and some of the zones/gameplay in general.
Planetside is really fun, can't wait till the official version comes out in May.

LOL! Since when does EQ have a story line!
If you're trying to make a poor reference to the "quests" in the game, I pity anyone who actually reads the text in them. The spelling and punctuation makes Webster cry. For MONTHS after Velious, that "Anikin Skywolker" drake (or whatever the f**k his name was) would constantly say, "Do not proceed into the Northern wing of the Temple of Veeshan unless you wish to loose your life."
EverQuest is the *most* unprofessional game ever concieved and put on store shelves.
Originally, it was supposed to have a story. Until everyone at Verant realized that their "dynamic gameplay" wasn't so dynamic. The most they could change about the world without huge ass patches was adding/deleting/changing npcs and spawn timers. None of the static world geometry can be changed without recompiling the maps, which would have to be downloaded all over again (as whole files) via the EQ patcher.
Upon realizing this, Verant was forced to make REALLY poor attempts at "pseudo dynamic gameplay" through horribly scripted quests like the Coldain Rings. The closest Verant has ever gotten to a dynamic quest is the sleeper awakening, because it can only be done once.
Because of the dramatic quest repetition. The game is nothing but a virtual c**k at best.

By storyline I wasn't really referring to quests...I was meaning that EQ2 is likely to have alot of the same races/classes as EQ, just updated versions, but still similar in a way.

Level 50, RR 3L4. Consitantly on the top 10 infs on guin for earned rp in a week, well not anymore, I stopped playing for the last few weeks

Has anybody been following Horizons?
I just looked at their site for the first time...in a long time, wasn't this considered to be vaporware a while ago? Or am I thinking of something else?
Anyway, it's in beta right now...anyone have any opinions on it?

I've sorta kept up with it. In the vaporware stage, some new fella got ahold of it and all that is the same (or so I hear) is the name. Haven't heard much else from my source. =/
