I bought the old standby Unreal2004, and will probably purchase BF Vietnam tomorrow.
What little I played of Unreal was of course.. Unreal. Looked to be very fun, in-game voicechat, vehicles and weapons etc... It also ran like a dream.
Vietnam I'm afraid will run like Crap like the last two expansions do on my machine.
Anyways...
Comments? Opinions?

Vietnam would be cool if you are interested in that war, but honestly, what can it provide beyond that that 1942 doesn't?

It runs most new games without a problem though with a little slack in the graphics.

UTK4 is alot of fun. The new game types are really neat. Onslaught is really awsome. Its a totally original idea.
Not to mention the new Assault/Bombing Run maps are great.
I wish I could play UTK4 more but I still play UT-IG religiously.

BF Secret Weapons was the shittiest game I have ever played in my life. It took an awesome game based in WW2 and threw in a couple random fantasy weapons, but left in all the old weapons also.
I might buy Vietnam if people say it was different from Secret weps.

Ohh man, Vietnam is uber. I was playing it at my cousins today.
I haven't played UT2k4 but I am buying that rather than Vietnam due to my computer not being able to handle it right now.

still better than any of the s****y mods (like DC.. ugh)

I downloaded BF Vietnam and have been playing it before all the CD-keys get blocked.
Its alot different then BF1942, its not a pure vehicle game (i hated that about BF1942), its more of a soldier game but of course some maps are geared to vehicles. I was very suprised on how much fun it actually is. If you want to see all the special effects and good graphics, you will need to have a very good video card (9700 PRO +). I have a 9800 Pro 256 meg DDR2 card and can run it silky smooth on my system (P4 2.8c running at 3.5) with anti-aliasing turned up to 4:1.
As far as UT2k4, its pretty cool too but I enjoyed playing with 30 people on BF Vietnam alot more. Opinions vary. I think I will actually buy the game when the cd codes get all weeded out.

bf1942 expansions are kind've a waste when you can play DC and EOD for free. I'd probably get UT2004 if I had to choose between the 2.

being a die hard BF gamer for the last year and a half it saddens me to say after buying both BF:V and unreal2004, BF:V is sitting on the shelf till 1.1 patch comes out at least. Its got so many bugs and missing standard features and shit its just infuriating to play a game thats in worse a state then the game its based on.
Unreal2004 on the other hand is the cat's ass and polished to shit. gReat gameplay ect..
Unreal2004 and farcry are the two worth playing.
Oh for reference
p4 3gig
1gig 400ddr ram
120gig sata
ati 9800 pro AIW
Unreal2004 getting lows of 50ish rarely average 85 max around 150
with everything at high settings at 1280x1024
In BF:V at 1024x768 everything on high min 20's average 40's highs 80s but jerky and mouse lag is brutal..had to turn qraphics quality down to medium ,shadows off and disable abunch of sound options to get it to play smoother...

haha i probably should since i've played it a total of 5 hours since i got it. My g/f bought it for me though, so i'd be in trouble if it disappeared..

Unreal is more fun atm, every BF:V server I loged on seemed to have horrible latency issues
