No kidding...
Initial reports are that 3 missles with nuclear warheads were found buried, under 6m of concrete, just outside of Tikrit.
It's still early, but keep your eyes on the news.

If these turn out to be nukes, I question the timing of their finding since the Democratic National Convention is just a few days away.

Two things here...
If they are buried under 6m of concrete, there is a way to analyze the concrete to get an idea of when it was poured.
I believe they were found by Iraqi security forces, after interrogation of a captured Sadam loyalist. Nothin like a defribalator on the bottom of your feet to job your memory.
Anyway...I haven't seen anything on any news sites, I'm sure everyone (except me of course) is being very careful before they report anything.
Instead....we get this:
| Quote: | WASHINGTON (AP) -- When first lady Laura Bush counseled her twin daughters on how to behave while campaigning with their father, she may have skipped the part about not sticking your tongue out at the media.
That's what Jenna Bush did Tuesday after President Bush arrived at St. Louis' Lambert International Airport.
After Bush joined his daughters in a limousine, Jenna stuck her tongue out at about a dozen photographers and reporters.
As the reporters started to laugh and snap photographs, the 22-year-old looked at them for a few more seconds, smiling and laughing.
The Bush twins recently joined their dad on the stump for his last political

Thanks CNN, that's newsworthly

| Quote: | Iraq dismisses nuclear find report
Wed 21 July, 2004 14:34
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's Interior Ministry has dismissed as "stupid" a report in a local newspaper that three nuclear missiles were found near the town of Tikrit.
A senior U.S. military official told reporters on Wednesday he had no information on the report in the newspaper al-Sabah. He said officials were checking the report.
Asked by Reuters about the report, a spokesman at the Interior Ministry said: "It's stupid." |
I don't really believe it, but Iraq's Interior Ministry calling it stupid does seem to be an argument in favor of it being true.

Given past false reports, I'm not believing it until US officials say one way or the other. My comment was referring to the media's response to the Berger incident. The liberal outlets are now questioning the timing of the leak, rather than the fact that he tried to conceal evidence of Clinton's negligence. Yeah...because that's really important.

It was a bad translation from arabic....he meant to say "smart bomb", not "stupid warhead"

Maybe he meant "how could we have been so stupid not to have launched them?".

Which is why CNN didn't run the story.
Thanks for the fluff Chicken Little. Back to your HAM radio for credible news!
