|
|
|
First...I have Trillian Pro on my laptop and my desktop computers and am running Firefox on both (if that even matters). I have the Jabber plugin on both, and can use Googletalk via Trillian on my laptop but can't get it to work on my desktop..same version of Pro, correct pw, etc...
Any ideas?
Second..is it normal to only be able to DL two files at a time? LOL I am trying to DL a slew of .rar files via FTP and I can only seem to get two at a time to DL...that's making it f*****g tedious not to mention that I have to keep going back and forth to the machine
As always...thanks!

I say use Gaim because it is far superiour to Trillian in my experience.

I have had this happen on a couple of sites for me. It doesnt happen everywhere but only a handful of locations and I havent been able to determine the problem. I have done some research and edited the about:config many times but cannot fix it.

default for most FTP Server programs, at least 2 years ago, was 2 DL at one time per IP. That is why a bunch of DL manager programs popped up to do what you want.

Ok, I figured out the Trillian issue...didn't realize that I had to change the server to talk.google.com /doh!
The FTP thing..what's a good DL manager then? So far, I am thwarting it by downloading two in Firefox and viewing the page in IE as well so I can download two more that way at the same time Maybe it wouldn't be good to download too many at a time anyway, who knows <shrug>

Open "about:config" in your firefox browser.
Set the value of the following from 2 to 8.
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server
