Gaim, an open source proggie that works like Trillian is a good alternative.

where? i got a full v of trillian 2 and it seems to be working fine..
i just use it for weather updates and email checking though because trillian, while has better features than all other messaging programs .. still sucks just because it has a few minor bugs and is too graphics intensive .. and i hate the away message system too ..
i used trillian for a while and then i just couldnt stand it anymore .. the only reason i kept using it was for the IM windows that never stole focus and the email/weather checking plugins
now i use deadaim .. the only thing i miss about trillian (now that i use it as a weather check / email check app) is the windows that never steal focus

i dunno .. . i downloaded gaim and it seems more graphically buggy than trillian .. i really didnt like it .. =\

I use a cracked trillian pro.
I tried gaim but I hated it.
I need to find a newer version of trillian though because mine wont let people direct connect with me. It's gay like that.
I REFUSE TO USE AN AOL PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!

I use a cracked version of Trillian Pro, works great. Lets me direct connect and all other features.
