Is character transfer possible in Guild Wars and to what extent? I’ve read somewhere that there will be no item transfer to new Factions campaign. I have to say that I don’t like that, because I hate when I have to build my character from the beginning. And what about upcoming Guild Wars 2?

You have to build your character all over again, but I don’t see anything wrong here – the campaign is intended to be played “from the beginning”. Yet, there is an info that Guild Wars 2 will feature one big global server and thus character transfer will be easy between worlds in the game sequel.
