Before my first account was banned, I got my warrior to 18 or so. I loved the fast pace, in that I could swap between stances, do abilities, and basically push all the buttons all I wanted. Very busy.
But now Janoth and others are telling me that if I want to be worth a shit as a level 60 warrior, I have to go get a high damage, slow weapon such as - ta da! The arcanite reaper.
Is it really that cookie-cutter? I was hoping to dual-wield.

Sure for PVP purposes I guess it can be used. But there are quite a few other weapons you can use that are ok. You dont "have" to use anything really. PLay how you want.
I will add tho, I am a prot specced war, and I f*****g suck balls in PVP. And when I say I suck balls... good lord should I be in porn I am so bad. Yesterday I went to alterac valley (40vs 40 BG) and it was almost like being in TM again. Just 2 big groups of people using ranged attacks back and forth. WOWOWOW FUN.
One of my party members said "Hey aki, I know why you are dying so much, you charge like 30 people in the hopes of killing 1 guy" I responded "yea, I guess I should stay back and do my 1 shot every so many seconds for 50 damage". Large scale PVP sucks IMO. Ranged people own it all there.
Maybe it will be better if I take my guild when we get 40 people, who knows.
But yea, use what you want occ. Hell dual-wield may be decent with the new talent in for it.

I think people love the Reaper so much because its rather hard to get (20 arcanite bars sucks horribly if you aren't a miner), looks cool and gives you a bit more unique look.
From a stats perspective, its also one of the few blue weapons that actually has stats (which bugs me... why the fek do all these weapons have some effect but no stats??) and the +atk power to go along with it just makes it a really nice weapon.
.... but no, you dont NEED to have one. Doomsaw for example is a pretty solid weapon and has a nice proc on it. The Barberous Blade from DM is pretty similar and if you do the quests in Scholomance, the Warblade of Caer Darrow is pretty kick ass (and has a higher DMG rating as well).
Can't comment on dual wield since I'm a Paladin Most warriors I see either go with 1h/shield combo or 2hander.

20 arcanite bars sucks horribly for anyone that doesn't have a stable of alchemists pumping out transmutes for them (arcanite transmute = 2 day cooldown, it would take 1 alchemist 40 days to do 20 bars. Though there's usually people in IF trying to sell arcanite transmutes for 3-4 g + materials)

I was protection specd from lvl 1-56 and i couldnt pvp worth shit, i went cookiecutter MS/enrage build and started winning about 50% of my fights, i hit 60 got an AR, and now I kick anyone ass besides mages and sometiems shadowpriests =p Ive even been able to take two at a time...hunter x2 vs. me, and rogue/pally vs me...i won both with 50% health left, and no potions used.

High delay = more attack power. Bigger hits = more damage for your instant attacks(Mortal strike/whirlwind).
Defensive and fury spec are pretty much not viable atm, and are broke. Blizzard keeps trying to jew warriors by saying "K WE FIXED IT". It's like giving a homeless man 50 cents and telling him he can go buy a house now.
Can you go dual weild? Yes. You wont be as good as MS warriors, but eventually blizz will fix it. On the bright side, fury does generate more rage, so in group PVP you can possibly be better as a utility guy, running around intercepting I guess. I don't know.

dual wield acutally isnt that bad if you are fury build with a high crit%, and if you run in berserk stance
and with dual wield my opinion is the opposite, lower delay spam weapons are nice
i think for pvp 2handers are better and thats what i use...but the option for other things isnt too terrible
protection specced warriors suck balls at pvp, but are great aggro holders in pve!

The Arcanite warrior is pretty much like the required for a lvl 60 warrior. Unless you're a f*g and use a shield or dual wield.
I was lucky and had a good friend I grouped with from like lvl 7 all the way to lvl 60, I even found and bought him the recipie for the arcanite transmute, so He made me all 20 of my arcanite bars free of charge. The f*****g p***k that made the reaper for me though bent me over and f****d me up the ass with his *service charge* because he was the ONLY alliance guy who had the plans back then.
Now that giant waste of time is rotting on canceled account, haha I love MMO's

Arcanite reaper isn't the only way to go. Dual wielding Deathbringers with a full fury spec has potential.
For the standard Arms / Fury build, a Reaper really is worth it. Although the proc on the Earthshaker is really neat and funny, making using a Mace worthwhile too.

We have a warrior dual wielding those Eskhander claws in the Fury spec and he does rogue levels of damage when he wants to, he just can't control his agro very well like a rogue can.

Playing the game to 60 was definetly fun, I don't regret that. But farming f*****g arcane crystals and spamming my friend to see if his 2 day transmute timer was reset was DEFINETLY not fun. It was a waste of time.

Mace spec sucks, so earthshaker isnt really worth it for a MC drop. Not for a warrior. Deathbringers are good, but they drop off Onyxia, and dual weilding them isnt really any better than a MS spec reaper. You might as well just go for a Spinal Reaper
