I can see how you could feel pretty p****d off that you have to take meds to feel normal and try to see if you could go without it or whatever. I guess if it was me, I'd talk myself into it by saying "hey, my brain is supposed to have this chemical; it's not my fault that I don't make enough of it naturally. So maybe life tried to rip me off a little bit, but if I can thwart that by taking a pill, then hell yeah I'm doing it."
I could see feeling a little bitter that you have to take it, but a lot less bitter than if you needed it and couldn't get it.

Unless I misunderstand my 8th grade science class, a "half life of 8 hours" means that every 8 hours the population (or density) is cut in half. So if you had 500mg of an 8-hour-halflife product in your system, and 29 hours went by, you'd still have 30mg or so.
