Not worth it right now. Nothing (software besides linux/unix) really supports the athlon 64, just wait until the price comes down.

going to wait about 2months and take advantage of xmas prices
hopefully by then, cause i don't know how much longer i can wait for a new machine..i'm freakin out!! need new machine!

actually they do have sales, but prolly not for this..
online retailers like to dump old stock, so they have sales
might not be a good deal, but better than paying that much now
i'd be happy if i could get the bundle for a less than 1 grand, lol, wouldn't you?

This sounds kind of like my office mate that buys dual-processor boards for his home web-surfing computer. Do you actually have some software that can use this?

I used to do the same shit. Buy all the newest hardware and upgrade my PC at least once a year.
Now, after going through and playing Halo - PC, I'd have to say its nice to play my Xbox, and not have to worry about the little quirks and crappy performance that is experienced w/ PC games... and only having to spend $200 on an Xbox.
Been 2 years since I last bought an upgrade for my PC. If I can't play it on my Centrino laptop, oh well.
