I read yesterday about the US fighter that shot up a Patriot missile battery, and thought probably the same thing as everyone else: 1 plane shot down by Patriot, 1 Patriot shot up by a plane - even score. Except that two Brits got killed when the plane got shot down, so that's sad.
But apparently it wasn't a total error by the plane yesterday. They're worried that there's a software glitch in the Patriot that's causing it to lock onto coalition planes inadvertantly, and the plane took it out.

That's pretty damn cool, that the plane was able to detect it and neutralize it before it had a chance to fire - they're designed to shoot down supersonic missiles, so you have to assume that there's not a lot of time to react.
