The title of this thread called to me, and it did not disappoint! It is not strange for people to take pictures of themselves to put on the internet. Sometimes they will even smile, or perhaps turn their head in a certain direction, whatever they think will be most complementary to their particular look. Even Occulis photographs himself for the interweb!
P.S. Haven't I seen a picture of you wearing a zip up hoody? That's pretty emo!!!!!

While he identifies with other children who dress in the "emo" fashion, he did not expect to be called out for posing effeminately.
He honestly thought that picture of him looked good. In his circle of "emo" f**s that is how a picture is taken. The male emos have no idea that they are emulating females. Females who take pictures looking out the side of their head specifically to make the whites of their eyes look bigger. More attractive.
More attractive to males that is.
He mimics females attempting to look attractive to the opposite ****.
The main problem is he is blind to this fact. He cannot see it for what it is.

caring is besides the point, the question is WHY do you choose to look the way you do?
I wouldn't be defending my looks, because appearances don't need to be justified. Attitudes(associated with appearances), however, do need to be justified. I would be defending what my looks represent.
for example, if you were sporting a swastica I would proabably start asking questions.
too long have you two beat around the bush that is your basic divergence in attitude. What I would personally like to see is some serious agruement and defense not about appearances, but the attitudes associated with them. A clear arguement about why people decide to defy traditional appearances, and what is represented. What kind of social breakdown is at hand when someone decides that skirts shouldn't have to be down to the ankles, and hair shouldn't be short and neat.
I'd like to see Kbarr and Devook reveal the truth about gender schemas and norms. I'd be impressed to find one bit of honesty about who is conforming and who is not?
my bets are that devook conforms to a greater network of close peers than kbarr even has to think about because he is at an age where he comes in contact with more peers every day (be it at work, school, or elsewhere) than kbarr, the retired night crawler, ever comes across.
prove me wrong, both of you.
