I've been reading a lot about LOTRO before the game was released but at the time the game started I was busy and up until now I couldn't pay too much attention to it. Now I'd like to start playing and I would like to be a minstrel. What do you think, is it a good idea?

It is a great idea. There aren't many minstrels in the game now and they're really badly wanted in some groups. I've even heard that some groups are paying for a minstrel so it may turn out to be a very profitable choice. Still, even if it wasn't like that, I always think that you should play whichever class is to your liking, no matter what other people say.
