Maybe, but my shotgun looks better:)
I remember reading a science fiction book years ago where the aliens had the tech to go faster than light but never invented the light bulb. They burned oil type lamps in their space ships.

Optical sight.
Its like a lazer, cept no lazer. You look through it and where ever the dot is, thats where the slug will go.

Its weird. If you aren't looking through it, you see nothing on the target. If you look through it, there is a dot. Its very accurate and you can have both eyes open. Good for quick shots.

Its commonly reffered to as a 'red dot' sight. It uses refraction to make a red dot 'float' inside the scope instead of shooting a laser beam onto the target.
The way the optics are set up, you can have both eyes open, or have your head slightly to one side and the 'floating dot' will still accurately indicate where the bullet will strike.
Aimpoint is one famous manufacturer of these and so is Trijicon. The trijicon one uses no batteries (its not as bright a dot tho).

Aimpoint is brighter and better, the bat lasts forever. Something like 6 months or a year, mine is still going strong at 8 or 9 months.

umm..hey rob
you don't need a scope for a shotgun
that's the whole point of a shotgun
unless you're using slugs..and shooting thru engine blocks with armor piercing slugs, hehe..or shooting from one side to the other with a lead slug..not that we'd use lead, mind you...
i do love those sights tho, good times

If god smiles on me I will get to use my baby as it should be used. When this happens I will be tossing slugs in ALL DIRECTIONS!
But, odds are I will croak and my offspring will put it away for the civil war I would have missed.

At 15 feet away you don't need sights on any gun. The farther away you get, the farther away you get. If you are 100 feet away, I would like to have some sort of sight on my weapon.
