|
|
|
Here's the problem, I went to best buy, they were out, I went to compusa, they were out, and so I finally went to Circuit City and they had it, but they apparently didn't buy *ANY* DVD copies of it. So I got stuck with the CD version...
Here's my theoretical question, let's assume I ripped all the content from all of the CDs and burned them to a DVD -- Would this work?
Basically my theory is that it would tell me to insert the next disk and I could just click next without swapping disks and it'd continue the install normally.

Please insert disk two.
Please insert disk one again.
Please insert disk three.
Please insert disk five.
Now please insert disk four.
Now insert disk one again.
Installation is complete.

that should work, depending on the install routine. 99% of the time it will work.
worst case, you lost $.49 and 15 minutes of your time

I format regularly. Furthermore, one disk takes up less space in my CD binder than 7. One disk is easier to keep track of.
As a final note, I'm not sure what you're doing but i tseems as if you're trying to convince me to stick with the CDs which I don't want to do. Hence why this thread isn't about whether or not I should do it but rather *will it work*?

if you want to try it out without buringing a dvd, you could just copy a cd or 3 to your C drive in a directory and try installing it from there

yeah would be ALOT more convienient to have all those install cd's and play disk on one cd. I would have to agree, It should work if all cd's are burned on to one Dvd.

I have the reverse problem.
I have the DVD, but I want to pull a CD and make an ISO so I can play off the image file.
I tried copying the CD1 folder to an image file and try to run the game, but no luck.
