The stuff I built always did, but most of my spaceships were crewed by pirates and gas station attendants so they probably weren't too good at maintenance.

I used wagon wheels as large radius beam weapons.
Those Jet engines that came apart were exorbitantly powerful bombs.
Those goofy little switch things were aimable precision lasers, and somehow I ended up with like 500 more Lego Dude Heads than bodies, so I used Heads as AI controllers.
