Friend of mine and I had this conversation recently:

Me: "I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend a Sirius radio doodad for Christmas. She drools over them. She has wanted one for years. Also gonna get her some jewelry and shit."
Him: "Cool. Yeah... I wanna get something really awesome for my wife."
Me: "Really? Like what?"
Him: "Got a couple of ideas... wanna get something great, something really good. you know?"
Me: "Yeah. So what are you getting her?"
Him: "Well, I think she'd really like a Roomba."
Me: "hahahaha"
Him: "We've got all this damn cat hair, I mean it's really bad..."
Me: "Uh... are you serious?"
Him: "Yeah? Why? What the f**k is wrong with a Roomba?"
Me: "I just, uh... I wouldn't want one, especially if I were a girl."
Him: "Well god f*****g damnit what the f**k I try to think up good ideas and ... [insert 20 lines of ranting]"

I got a waffle iron from my fiance one Christmas. I think I'd prefer a roomba!

That thing looks pretty cool. I wouldn't mind getting one for christmas! I would love having my floors cleaned all the time instead of once every 3 months when I actually drag the vacuum out.

Not all women like jewelry.

Now if he is getting it because his wife does a s****y job vacuuming and he is p****d off about it, then he is in danger.

Haha, wow! I never actually thought you saved my picture, either way.. I still love that picture, and seeing that shirt makes me wonder what happened to it, I haven't worn it in forever 0_o.

Draggyn got me a Roomba last year for Christmas, it was one of the best gifts I ever got
I HATE vaccuming. HATE HATE HATE.
I blame my Mom for this Wink

Now I turn "Bob" (Roomba's name...the kids named it) loose and life is good. We have the Discovery model. It has a remote and all the toys. No more kid whining about having to vaccum, no more lugging the damned upright all over the house, no more noisey carpet sucker that I have to do...Just turn Bob on! YEAH!

It does a really good job too surprisingly. Takes about 30 seconds to empty it after it cleans a room, it gets under most of the furniture and does a pretty good job in corners too. I just move him from room to room each day. Granted I still use the upright if we're having company and I need to do the whole house in one shot, or a quick clean up, the stairs or need the hose for weird spots. but all in all this is a very cool toy and I love it.

Tell Him, if his SO is really busy and hates to vaccum, this might not be such a bad gift.

I guess I'm old and too practical...anything that is going to make my life easier sounds like a wonderful gift to me Smile

This is the kind of gift thats ok to give if you have like 2 kids, no time, and been together for 10 + years.

Before that it will just garantee you not getting laid for at least a week. ;p
Cleaning tools are NOT romantic!

!

LOL
yup...cept we've been together just about 7 years Wink
The other way this thing qualifies as a good gift is if you HATE vaccuming. Everyone that comes into the house plays with the damned thing btw. They all want to turn it on and drive it around to see how well it works. I think 2 other friends of our bought one after seeing mine.

Wonder if IRobot would give me perks for selling their products for them? hehehe

Smart Man.

Best gifts for christmas are jewelry, jammies, cashmere sweaters, and lingerie.

Stuff from Bath and Body works that smells good is nice too. =)
