The song at hand, "I Will Follow You Into the Dark", by Death Cab for Cutie. I'm not a huge fan of this band, but this song means so much to me, and to many people that I've met and know. If you really listen to the lyrics, it has sort of a real close to heart meaning, expecially if you feel this way about someone you know, be it a girlfriend, a wife or a very close friend. Anyways here are the lyics, and my follow interpretation of the song.

This song, to me, explains the very definition of true love. It tells a story of a man and a woman who are very in love with each other, the kind of love everyone hopes to have one day. The song explains that even if an unexpected fate were to happen to the woman he loves that he will be close behind her, his love so strong that he will even follow her into the blackness of death just to be with her again. "If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks, then I'll follow you into the dark". The songs explains that if there is no Heaven or Hell, or if they have no place in either that he will be there for her, that he will be with her no matter what, hand in hand, comforting her. "The time for sleep is now. It's nothing to cry about, cause we'll hold each other soon, the blackest of rooms."
This song speaks of a strong, unbreakable love. Its the kind of love that is true, and pure. It's a song with strong lyrics that is interpreted differently for everyone. A great song, if you haven't heard it you should definitely give it a listen.
